Helen's Run/Walk 2020
Sunday, April 26, 2020 USATF
Certified 5K/3.1 Miles

Due to the current circumstances of COVID-19, Helen’s Run/Walk, scheduled for April 26, 2020, has been postponed

First and foremost, we would like to thank you for your support and generosity and wish you good health.  We are disappointed that we won't be walking/running together but you can still make a difference!

Please consider converting your Run/Walk registration, donation or sponsorship into a donation to Helen Keller Services which will provide outreach and develop new virtual learning opportunities to the individuals we serve during this  COVID-19 crisis. If you would like to receive a refund, please email Marina.Carroll@hknc.org

On behalf of everyone at Helen Keller Services, thank you. We are so grateful for your commitment to our mission and helping us to achieve our goals. Together, we will get through this!

Presented by the Helen Keller National Center
for Deaf-Blind Youths and Adults (HKNC).

Enjoy the beauty of Sands Point as you RUN or WALK for a purpose in Helen's Run/Walk 2020!

Join HKNC students, staff and community members as they raise funds to provide essential Support Service Provider (SSP) assistance for the staff and students at HKNC who are deaf-blind.  SSPs are specially trained individuals who provide visual and auditory information, human guide support and access to communication for people who are deaf-blind to enable them to actively participate in everyday life, access their environments and make informed decisions.

Examples of SSP services include providing information to deaf-blind teachers about what a student is doing during class or providing access to transportation, human guide support and environmental information when attending a conference.  Having an SSP empowers deaf-blind individuals to live, work and thrive in the community of choice.

If you cannot participate in person, please consider sponsoring a student who will run or walk on your behalf, or making a donation.

Register before April 5th to secure T-shirt size. T-shirts are not guaranteed for same-day registration. T-shirts are not available for Virtual Walkers.

Race begins at the Sands Point Preserve, 127 Middle Neck Road, Sands Point, NY 11050 (adjacent to the Helen Keller National Center). The Race finishes at HKNC, 141 Middle Neck Road, Sands Point where awards, sponsor booths and  post refreshments will take place. A FUN event for the entire family! Come join us and learn more about Helen Keller Services:  HKNC & HKSB.
